Long and Short Reviews is hosting a weekly blogging challenge for the year with weekly prompts. It seems like such a fun idea so I'm going for it! I love prompts that spark writing--even if it's challenging or hard--so I'm excited to give it a try this year. You can find the prompts here! My favorite movies of ALL time. I feel that is a bold statement, to just pick one's favorites ever. I mean, one of my favorite snacks of all time is popcorn...which goes hand in hand with movies. But, I've been ready for this question and can talk about my top five favorite movies to anyone, anytime. Here it goes.
Number 5: Twister I love this movie without shame. Romance, tornadoes, angst, drama... I watched this on repeat growing up in the midwest. For the longest time, I dreamed of being a tornado chaser because of this movie. If it is on TV, I will never change the channel. #Greenage Number 4: The Dark Knight This is one of the best directed movies I've seen. Not only that, the acting is phenomenal and it's gripping from start to finish. The actors jump out of the screen and pull you in... it's a heavier movie that my normal go-to, but it'll take something crazy to knock it out of my top five. Number 3: You've Got Mail Books, city life, first round of online dating, enemies to lovers, Tom Hanks...need I say more? I blame this movie for why enemies to lovers is my FAVORITE trope (to read AND write). Number 2: Die Hard I cannot get enough Bruce Willis. This movie has everything I want from action, to fires, to Hans Gruber, to romance. It's clever and quotable and even gives me a holiday feel. (It's a Christmas movie in our household). Number 1: The Count of Monte Cristo Disclaimer: I read and LOVED the book, too. But, this movie is my all-time favorite. The actors are beautiful, talented, and captivating. The storyline... honestly, it has it all. Betrayal, joy, angst, love, revenge, sacrifice, death, growth... every time I watch it I find another reason to love it because it covers all my favorite arcs in a story. It's hard to pick just five... so, I'm going to say my 6th favorite movie is Step-Brothers because it's so stupid, original, goofy, and hilarious. My husband and I watch it WAY too much and we'll probably never stop. What about you? What are your favorite movies of all time?

Well, some of yours are movies I could have listed on my blog but having grown up in the midwest I only wanted to run "away" from tornados:)

I don't think I've seen The Dark Knight since it first came out. It's one of the movies on my list to rewatch soon.

I do love "Die Hard". I'm not sure why I didn't think of it for my list. Which version of "The Count of Monte Cristo"? I've not seen "The Dark Knight". I'm a Marvel gal and have a hard time enjoying DC. They're SO dark and have so little humor. I'm trying, though... I really am.

I like most of the ones you listed... except The Step Brothers. I just can't. My post is here: http://jhthomas.blogspot.com/2019/02/wednesday-weekly-blogging-favorite.html

Die Hard is a popular one. Even people who don't like action movies like Die Hard.

I loved Twister and Die Hard, but then you can't beat Alan Rickman.
