Murders, Weddings, Tours, oh my!

Catchy title, huh? I wanted to give a quick end of summer update as so many exciting things happened.  The biggest--my brother got married and it was incredible. I cried. All of us cried (except my brother--we did have some bets going on about him though).  I love my sister-in-law and am so excited she joined the family!

New writing adventures

I'm branching out and exploring new genres to write. Thrillers and mystery are my favorite genre (besides romance of course) to read and an idea kept coming to me the past six months or so. What if you were related to a serial killer?  How would your life change? Would the public blame you or forgive you?

That created Zoey.  I'm so excited to share this story with everyone as it is a bit different than my normal scene. But, it's still in progress and is expected to contain five stories as they solve crimes around the country. Here's a blurb:

Zoey Gonzalez-Pederson prefers the solace of her loft, funky jazz music, and disgustingly strong coffee. Thrown into fame after being a key part of convicting her serial killer father, she glides through life without a plan besides surviving. But one email changes that: a current FBI agent, needs a favor. It pays and regardless of her insistence of not being thrown into that life, one with murders and psychopaths, she needs the money.

Recent murders in Cincinnati have a little too many connections to her incarcerated father. Labeled as the Silent Killer, messages are left on the bodies with homage to him. And with each body, another clue to the past is unlocked and Zoey is the only one who can connect the dots.

All the women look like her. All the women are mothers. All the women were found staged to look like a suicide. But one victim changes the game. A message is left specifically to Zoey. Clues lead to more questions and Zoey must revisit the past and that means, talking to her father...something she’s avoided for six years.

Review Tours

I also had a review tour for my story "Take a Chance on Me."  It's one of the most emotional stories I've written as it talks about suicide and how it affects the characters years later. But I wanted to share some of the high lights of the review!

"Take two people with charm and sex appeal, put in a small apartment, shake well, and wait for the sparks to fly! I admit, I thought this would be just another rom-com, but it's a Terrific rom-com, with lots of witty dialogue and snappy come-backs, angst and dreams - and characters you  really get behind and root for. A sweet and sassy friends to lovers romance."

"The author has an easy way of writing that made me forget I was even reading a book… the story, instead, played out like a movie in my mind. I zipped through the first few chapters without even realizing! "

"This was such a fun book...I lost count of how many times I laughed while reading this book."
